The Opportunity

We are looking for a reliable Kitchen Assistant to support catering operations within a friendly children’s nursery in Marylebone. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys preparing simple, nutritious meals and snacks for young children, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and working as part of a small team to deliver consistent service during nursery hours.

The Role

As Kitchen Assistant you will:

• Assist with preparation of breakfasts, lunches, teas, and healthy snacks in line with nursery menu plans

• Portion and plate meals for children, following dietary and allergen instructions

• Wash, clean, and store kitchen equipment and utensils to required hygiene standards

• Support basic stock rotation, unpacking deliveries, and notifying senior staff of shortages

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures at all times

• Work cooperatively with nursery staff to ensure smooth mealtimes and safe food handling

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a kitchen, nursery, or childcare catering setting is desirable

• Understanding of basic food hygiene and allergen control (Level 2 Food Hygiene desirable)

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work to scheduled nursery mealtimes

• Patient, friendly, and professional when working around young children and childcare staff

• Good communication skills and a willingness to follow direction
