Chefs for Chefs is recruiting a reliable and experienced Head Cook for a busy branded pub in the Goring / Reading area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident cook who can run a kitchen independently, deliver consistent pub classics, and perform well in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

This is a sole chef position, so you must be calm, organised, and confident running service.

You will:

• Prepare, cook and present dishes to brand standards & Specifications

• Run kitchen service efficiently and communicate with FOH

• Manage prep, mise en place and section organisation

• Handle stock control, deliveries and basic ordering

• Maintain food hygiene, allergen control and HACCP compliance

• Adapt to menu changes, specials and busy peak periods

The site operates with a mix of fresh and frozen produce.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as Head Cook, Senior Chef de Partie, or similar

• Pub or casual dining background preferred

• Strong consistency and portion control

• Basic stock control knowledge

• Level 2 Food Hygiene (or equivalent)

• Reliable, flexible and comfortable working evenings and weekends
