The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sous Chef to join a recently reopened, independently owned Italian restaurant in Goole. We specialise in traditional, fresh Italian cuisine, with all dishes prepared in-house using high-quality seasonal produce.

Working closely with the owner and Head Chef, you will help deliver authentic Italian dishes rooted in classic technique and clean, bold flavours. From fresh pasta and slow-cooked sauces to daily specials inspired by regional Italian cooking, everything is made with care and attention to detail.

Initially, the restaurant operates Wednesday to Sunday (4pm–10pm). However, there is genuine opportunity for the right candidate to take the helm on Mondays and Tuesdays, opening the kitchen and playing a key role in expanding the business.

This is a hands-on role in a small, close-knit kitchen with creative freedom, direct access to ownership, and real input into menu development and specials.

About You

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Chef

• Experience in Italian cuisine preferred, but not essential

• Passion for traditional, fresh Italian cooking and seasonal ingredients

• Ambitious and eager to step up into a leadership role

• Comfortable working in a small kitchen with high standards

• No-ego team player with a genuine love for quality food
