About the Role
Our client is currently seeking a passionate, forward-thinking Sous Chef to join our kitchen brigade in a thriving, family-run business. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your enthusiasm, creativity and leadership to a unique venue offering functions, weddings, restaurant dining and golf facilities, set within stunning woodland surroundings in the heart of Yorkshire.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in inspiring and leading a forward-thinking kitchen team to consistently deliver exceptional food and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality food using fresh, local produce
Support the Head Chef in driving the business forward
Manage, train and motivate the kitchen team
Maintain excellent health, hygiene and food safety standards
Stock taking, ordering and stock rotation
Cost controls and waste management
Staff training and development
Menu planning and development
Allergen information and controls
Rota management
Cleaning schedules and kitchen organisation
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years’ kitchen experience, preferably in a similar role
Current driving licence (preferred but not essential)
Strong leadership and communication skills
Passion for fresh food and high standards
The Venue
The site features a large, recently refurbished restaurant, multiple function rooms hosting private parties, conferences and weddings, an 18-hole golf course and a members’ sports bar. The venue also offers a unique interactive chef’s table concept delivering bespoke tasting menus, wine pairings and seasonal dining events.
What We’re Looking For
2+ years’ experience as a Senior CDP/Jnr Sous Chef
A chef who’s eager to grow, develop, and lead a team
A team player with a no-ego attitude and a passion for quality food
Someone who truly loves fresh, clean, seasonal produce
