The Role
We are looking for a passionate and driven Sous Chef to join a well-established Pan-Asian restaurant in Ripon. The restaurant serves vibrant, high-quality dishes inspired by East and South-East Asian cuisines complimented with local British produce
Average covers: 40–50 midweek, 60–70 on weekends
Kitchen brigade of 6 chefs
Focus on fresh ingredients, bold flavours, and consistent execution
This is an excellent opportunity for a Sous Chef who enjoys working in a close-knit team and thrives in a fast-paced but controlled service environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Managing and motivating the brigade to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient service
Maintaining high food quality and consistency across all sections
Contributing to menu development and creative ideas
Training, mentoring, and delegating tasks to junior team members
Ordering and stock control with attention to business levels and waste management
Upholding excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety
Assisting on sections and supporting service as required
Communicating guest feedback and operational insights to the Head Chef
Skills, Experience & Attributes
Strong kitchen and knife skills
Previous experience in a supervisory or senior chef role
Good understanding of food safety and health & safety standards
Calm under pressure with a hands-on leadership style
Creative, detail-oriented, and eager to continuously improve
Enthusiastic, reliable, and a strong team player
What We’re Looking For
2+ years’ experience as a Jnr Sous /Sous Chef
A chef who’s eager to grow, develop, and lead a team
A team player with a no-ego attitude and a passion for quality food
Someone who truly loves fresh, clean, seasonal produce
