About the Role
We are seeking a Temporary CDP to join a contract catering team at a care setting in Ellesmere Port. This is a temporary position offering £15.12 per hour and immediate start opportunities. The successful candidate will prepare and cook nutritious, appetizing meals for residents and support the smooth running of the kitchen on a day-to-day basis.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Temporary CDP you will work within an established menu framework to deliver consistent, high-quality meals while maintaining excellent standards of food safety and hygiene. Typical duties include:
Preparing, cooking, and presenting meals to set portion and quality standards.
Following menu plans, recipes, and dietary requirements, including modified textures and allergen-safe dishes where needed.
Assisting with stock rotation, inventory checks, and basic ordering to minimise waste and control costs.
Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and storage in line with hygiene schedules.
Completing food temperature, cleaning, and fridge/freezer logs accurately.
Supporting and collaborating with the kitchen team and care staff to meet resident needs and preferences.
Assisting with pot washing as part of a team
Key Responsibilities
Deliver consistent cooking and plating during service periods (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
Adhere to food safety, health & safety, and allergy management procedures at all times.
Help maintain stock levels and report shortages to the supervising chef or manager.
Support kitchen colleagues, including temporary or bank staff, to ensure smooth service.
Contribute to keeping documentation up to date (temperatures, cleaning checklists, delivery records).
About You
Previous experience working as a Chef de Partie or similar role in care, contract catering, hospitality, or catering environments.
Level2 Food Hygiene and allergen awareness (or willingness to obtain) is required.
Reliable, adaptable, and able to work to agreed menus and standards.
Good communication and teamwork skills with a calm, professional approach.
Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including early starts or split shifts where required.
DBS check desirable; willingness to undergo checks as part of employment.
