Our client operates a stunning, historic 4-star property surrounded by beautiful woodland on the outskirts of Tadcaster. The venue features 32 bedrooms, several event and wedding spaces, a restaurant, bar-lounge, and alfresco dining.

Your Role
As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with and support the Head Chef in leading and motivating the kitchen brigade. You’ll help deliver outstanding dishes with consistency, creativity, and superb attention to detail.
This role requires strong banqueting experience (ideally in at least a 1-rosette environment) and a proactive, positive approach. Being able to drive is advantageous due to the location.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes to the highest standards
Supervise, train, and motivate the kitchen team
Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning and new dish development
Manage stock control, ordering, and inventory
Ensure full compliance with food hygiene and safety standards
Maintain an organised, clean, and efficient kitchen environment
Support smooth service operations and handle guest requests professionally
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar in fine dining or high-volume catering
Strong background in banqueting and event catering
Excellent leadership and organisational skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
A creative, driven approach to cooking
Commitment to maintaining high food safety and quality standards
