The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join a lively, hardworking, and dedicated kitchen team.

Our client is passionate about fresh, local produce, cooking in-house and keeping our menus seasonal. Alongside our core menu, we run a weekly changing specials board, meaning there are always new ideas, dishes, and flavours coming out of the kitchen.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Sous Chef who thrives in a busy pub kitchen, enjoys creative input, and takes pride in producing high-quality, fresh food. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef in a well-structured kitchen, helping to maintain standards, support the team, and keep service running smoothly.

About the Kitchen

• Fresh, seasonal menus cooked in-house

• Weekly changing specials

• Strong emphasis on quality, consistency, and teamwork

• Busy but well-organised service

Average covers:

• Midweek: 45–60 covers per day

• Friday & Saturday: 45–80 covers per day

• Sunday: 50–80 covers

Team Structure

• 1 Head Chef

• 1 Sous Chef

• 1 Chef De Partie

• 1 Kitchen Assistant

• 4 Kitchen Porters

Working Hours

• 45–60 hours per week

• 5 days out of 7

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef (or strong Junior Sous ready to step up)

• Passion for fresh, seasonal, locally sourced food

• A reliable, hardworking team player with a positive attitude

• Someone who enjoys contributing ideas and supporting menu development

• Calm and organised under pressure

• Commitment to high kitchen standards and teamwork
