Temporary Head Chef Responsibilities – Kitchen Management & Quality Food Delivery

• Lead and motivate the kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals to the centre’s wide range of guests, from gym-goers to families

• Oversee menu production, prep, and service – ensuring variety and consistency at all times

• Maintain strong kitchen hygiene and uphold all food safety practices in line with current regulations

• Order kitchen stock as needed and keep tight control of waste and costings

• Train, guide, and supervise junior kitchen staff as required

• Adapt menus for dietary requirements and regularly review customer feedback to improve the food offering

• Work closely with the management and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth day-to-day running

What We’re Looking For – Skills and Qualities For Chef Positions in Oxford

• Previous experience as a Head Chef, Senior Sous, or strong Sous Chef in a busy, high-volume kitchen

• Comfortable working in leisure, contract catering, or multi-outlet environments

• Strong leadership, team motivation, and communication skills

• Passion for delivering fresh, tasty, and nutritious food to a broad customer base

• Organized, reliable, and able to thrive under pressure

• Food hygiene and allergen management qualifications (level2 or above preferred)

• A flexible approach – able to hit the ground running and adapt to changing needs
