Temporary Sous Chef Opportunity in the Highlands
Our renowned hospitality group is looking for a skilled Sous Chef to support our kitchen team during a busy period. We are passionate about fresh food, locally sourced ingredients, and impeccable service. If you are flexible, creative, and a strong team leader, we want to hear from you.
Key Sous Chef Responsibilities at Highlands Hotel
- Lead, motivate, and support the kitchen brigade to ensure exceptional service delivery.
- Deputize for the Head Chef in their absence, overseeing all aspects of kitchen management.
- Prepare and execute dishes to high standards, ensuring consistency and quality across each service.
- Efficiently manage food prep, ensuring timely meal delivery and adherence to recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Order and manage supplies, minimizing food waste and costs.
- Implement and maintain rigorous food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety practices.
- Foster a collaborative and positive kitchen environment.
- Work closely with management to develop specials and new menu ideas as required.
Temporary Sous Chef Role Requirements
- Minimum 4 years experience working in a fresh food kitchen, ideally in a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie role.
- Current Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
- Level 2 Allergen Awareness qualification (essential).
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Professional, friendly, and reliable with strong leadership skills.
- Experience adapting to new teams and kitchen environments.
- DBS clearance (preferred but not essential).
