Role Overview: School Cook Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with school menus, considering nutritional guidelines and students' dietary requirements.
• Plan menus that offer balanced nutrition using fresh ingredients, adjusting for seasonal availability.
• Manage food stock, placing orders as needed to ensure the continuous availability of key ingredients.
• Maintain accurate records of food deliveries, hygiene, and serving standards.
• Collaborate with school staff to cater for special events and accommodate special dietary needs.

Skills and Qualifications Required for the School Cook Position

• Level 2 Hygiene Certificate is essential.
• Level 2 Allergen Awareness Certificate.
• Experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational or institutional setting.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Enhanced DBS check required prior to commencement of the role.
